As in the early ages, mankind would observe the skies and
gaze upon the stars. This would give them an indication of the seasons or a
sense of direction that would inform and guide them. These were the signs of
the times. The same can also be said of one who is the ideal candidate for
business. There are traits that an individual possesses that signal business as
the ideal profession. The world of business is often complex and challenging
but those individuals that have the boldness to press on have a chance to reap
rewards and turn their lives around for the better. In business, there are two
possibilities: you either achieve success or you fail. For you to discover
either of the two outcomes the requirement is you to try first. The more you
try with good planning in place the more you get better in business. It is a
good to start a business because if it succeeds it will open to you doors of
financial freedom, becoming your own boss and working your own hours giving you
time to concentrate on what you value most. If your business fails, you will
have had valuable experience on how not to fail in business. Now you might ask yourself
questions like, how do I know I am built for business? Well, in my opinion i
believe there are signs that indicate an entrepreneurship spirit in a person
like:
Appetite for Risk
Most successful entrepreneurs have a huge appetite for risk.
They are daring to go into the uncharted territories and establish businesses
that mostly become established. They take calculated risks to ensure that their
dreams become a reality. A typical
example of such an entrepreneur is Elon Musk of Space Exploration Technologies
(SpaceX) and Tesla Motors who risked his
fortune obtained from the sale of his other business venture X.com now known as
Paypal. He injected his earnings into creating SpaceX, a longtime dream he had.
If you find that you have a huge appetite for risk then chances are you should
consider getting into business.
You are Innovative
In this era, innovation drives business. Most technological
breakthroughs have been made possible by the innovative minds that have sought
to see a better life for human kind. Making work easier or improving a process
is a skill highly sought after in these times. Steve Jobs was a genius at
making products better and was responsible for creating the innovative culture
that Apple carries on till today. Innovative
individuals who dream of a better world should stare entrepreneurship in the
eye and go for it
Creativity/ Inventiveness
Being able to make something out of ordinary objects is a
great skill. Individuals with the capacity to create should harness this
potential fully, nurture it and let it bloom fully. When a creative person is
equipped with entrepreneurship skills and decides to scale up their hobby for
profit, business is born.
Problem Solving
There is an almost never ending list of problems that are
being faced by people in the world. These problems are often pains that people
are willing to pay someone to solve them on their behalf. It could be the lawn
that needs mowing, groceries that need picking up, kids that need to be dropped
off to school and brought back or just plain baby sitting at home. A problem solver with the ability to identify
the needs of others and solve them in the best manner possible would be an
ideal candidate for business.
Serving Attitude
The patience and willingness to serve others is strength in
business. A person who possesses the ability to serve others is good for
business as they make the customer feel they had a great experience. This
translates to positive feedback and referrals by customers to other new clients
and eventually business growth.
A person with some or all of the points listed above who
make a great fit for business and touch
lives in some way along their entrepreneurial journey.
