Virtual Reality Gaming

Gaming technology keeps advancing, growing up we used to play games like Super Mario, which at the time were pixelated. Graphics got better from pixelated to viewable characters that made gameplay better. Then entered the era of 3D games which are almost life like. Games have never been this good for me. My first gaming console in 1997 was a Nintendo and at the time, I never thought that someday I would never need gaming cartridges. Today we are going to look at Virtual Reality (VR) Gaming which I think is just next level. Will there be another gaming technology that surpasses VR in the future? I would like to think so, basing on the changes I have witnessed from the nineties up until now.

What is Virtual Reality (VR) Gaming?

This term describes games that allow the player to be immersed . With the aid of VR gaming hardware, it feels as if you are inside the game. VR games can be so immersive that the player, for a brief moment, becomes unware of the physical environment around them. Players can experience and influence the game in first person perspective. Imagine being able to walk through a street in a game and look up to see the sky just as one would in real life. You can do that in a VR game.

VR Gaming Hardware

So for VR Games to work there is some hardware you got to have. The list includes:

Headset

You wear the headset onto your head and with it you can perceive the gaming environment. Products in this category have varying functionalities such as motion-control to capture your entire head and eye movements. Some of the popular gaming headsets are:

Controllers

Controllers interpret your physical actions into instructions the game can understand. Imagine you are playing a tennis VR game and you have a controller in your hand which when you view through your headset is a virtual racket. When you swing the controller, the virtual racket also swings proportional to your physical movements. Some controllers can map your entire body movements and recreate them in the game. Some popular vr gaming controllers are:

Gloves

VR gloves are a type of controller that enable the player to pick up or manipulate objects in the games using their hands. Think of a fighting game that requires you to throw some punches whilst in a boxing ring setup, vr gloves would be ideal. Some popular vr gloves are:
