Car types to know about
Have you ever seen a nice car that you loved then decided to tell someone and they asked what type it was only for you to stammer? It’s very common not to know the names or models of some cars. Today I am going to share with you some of the car types that you may have spotted but probably didn’t know which type the design belongs to. This will also help you when making car choices. Cars come in different shapes and sizes but a fact that remains is the category they fall under. This is the simplest way to distinguish cars and below are the various types and some pictures :
Suv
Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) is a type of car that provides a blend of both a sportish sedan and off-road capabilities. Most come in 4 door fashion with a spare wheel either at the back or somewhere inside. They have incredible performance.
Sedan
This type of car is nearer to the ground, has four doors and a boot. They are have good performance and are generally suited for daily drive around town. Most sedans are not off-road capable though I stand to be corrected on this. Sedans also come in sportish flavors and have great comfort.
Minibus/Minivan
This vehicle is ideal for situations where you need to carry a considerable number of people all at once whilst not sacrificing the comfort around the sitting space. They are ideal for family trips and camps.
Hatchback
The main distinguishing feature on this type of vehicle is the back design which is sort of slanted and the boot is square like. They are nice and depending on the maker may come in sportish flavors too.
Coupe
Think of this type as a mini sedan with two doors. Although the interior may house back seats, the entrance and exit is through the two main doors. Depending on the manufacturer, a coupe can also have sports mode.
Convertible
A convertible consists of a retractable canvas-like rooftop hence the name. The owner can choose to retract its rooftop or close it up completely depending on the preference and weather conditions.
Pickup Truck
This type of vehicle comes in two variants: as single or double cab. This is ideal for people who often need extra space to carry their stuff around usually for off-road activities such as farming.
